I didn't really mind Dexit that much in Sw/Sh (though I still didn't buy it), but it kind of pissed me off that you couldn't have any of the new pokemon from just a year or two ago in the Diamond and Pearl remakes.

Now like with Sword and Shield, they need to put out a quality product to convince me removal of pokemon is acceptable.

I have come to understand Dexit, but I hope Gen 10, they pull off one last "Everyone is here" moment for Pokemon and give us a game with just over 1,000 Pokemon.

Gamefreak has no intention of reversing dexit, the absolute worst decision the company has ever made by an unfathomably wide margin.

This. It happened, I don't like it, but I've come to terms with it and I won't be bothered by it anymore.

Now, there may be a chance that they could go back on Dexit in Gen 10, since there's a good chance that they'll drag out Gen 9 long enough to have Gen 10 launch in 2026 (Gen 9 would be our first 4-year generation since Gen 4), which would be the 30th anniversary of the series. So having every Pokemon available could very well be part of the celebration.

...Or maybe I'm just thinking too much into it and it'll just be business as usual.

I mean, I've already sworn off GameFreak's trash. There's nothing they can do to bring me back so they might as well go completely in the opposite direction with huffing their own farts. I didn't buy Sword/Shield, BDSP, or Legends Arceus. I won't buy Scarlet/Violet.

My only worry is them infecting the fangames scene with their poison. If fangames introduce Dynamax (some already have), Dexit, forced Exp. Share, not having Megas and Z-Power, it'll be a total shitshow.

I would love if they took the lessons learned from Legends Arceus and applied it here, but seeing how late in ScVi's development PLA released, I doubt it.

My main issue with Dexit is that there is no way to return pokemon you put into Home back to one of your own games if that pokemon doesn't appear in gen 8 or 9. Your pokemon are effectively being held hostage on a paid subscription service.

Like it would be one thing if I could actually see improvements made because of the time they saved Dexiting, but the games still look half-assed.

To think the red flag was there for decades and we all didn't notice it unlike a similar thing with Google where they got rid of their "Don't be evil" slogan and the world noticed it as a sign of dark times for the company and the internet at large.

If you're referring to the slogan, they got rid of it for gen 3 because it wasn't possible to catch 'em all in Ruby and Sapphire. They had to make Fire Red and Leaf Green to fix that.

I'm just surprised they're doing another generation already. Maybe if they actually took their time with this series they wouldn't have to cut so many corners for development time.

That said, I can't say I care about Dexit. I've never been one to transfer Pokemon from one game to another. Of course, I don't really play Pokemon anymore either, so my opinion doesn't mean much.

$3 a month, $5 a quarter, or $16 a year. Keep in mind that it could be many years before any given pokemon is allowed back into a game.

Yeah, but all the pokemon were already in the games code, so there was nothing stopping you from obtaining all the first two gen games once you had the ability to.

I'm...not defending Dexit. I'm explaining why they dropped the slogan, and that it wasn't a "red flag".

nah their worst move was trying to go full 3D when its VERY clear that they were not competent enough to actually manage it.

Should have stuck to and improve the sprites. Gen 5 will remain the height of this series

dexit was the least of sword/shield's issues.

Theres no legitimate excuse to not have every Pokemon already available in Sword/Shield and Arceus, plus newly developed one

These games look like total ass and its not like theyre remaking complex models every time. Theyre already clearly reusing assets in order to shit these things out so quick
