upcoming season. Any of you think that they will tear it down?

this a rollercoaster? when they do that to coasters its generally because they're going to demolish them. did something happen to it or is it old or something?

Funny that I'm watching a Youtube vid about it rn and come across this thread.

I honestly I have no idea if it will ever be shut down. My gut is telling me that it's going to reopen next year or even do a surprise reopening later this year. It sucks because this coaster (and park) is on my bucket list. At least there's Kingda Ka.... heh...

And for those who don't know, there was a accident last August 15th where some piece of metal struck a woman who was in line. The metal piece came from the car when it was going through the brakes to slow down and end the ride. There are reports of blood everywhere yet she survived and is recovering. But we don't know her full condition.

Apparently the park already regret building the coaster since it was built. I guess this is due to high cost on fixes. Dragster and Kingda Ka needs tons of repairs/maintenance.

I rode it when it first came out. It's been too long since I've been to Cedar Point out King's Island. I need to make it a point to go soon.

It's a fun ride, it's even more fun when you get a rollback at the peak and get to ride again for free.

I made a topic the other day about this, I look for them to remove it either at the end of this season or the beginning of next. Its nothing but a hassle and has injured people at least twice. The state may have cleared the park but I think the park is somewhat responsible for what happened. They should have been checking everything on the coaster trains.

I highly recommend not taking your phone on the new Orion coaster at King's Island because the park staff will never find it if it's lost during the ride. Happened to me last summer. Thankfully, I was due for an upgrade. If you must, make sure those pockets are deep and can zip.

You don't have an option unless you're willing to pay for a locker. That coaster doesn't have bins or anything to hold items. Either someone stays behind or you pay money.

Maybe trying to go from giga to strata coasters in such a short period wasn't such a good idea.

Lockers aren't expensive anyway

Nor are they safe at King's Island as plenty of people still get their items stolen from the lockers. There's no point in paying $15 if your stuff isn't guaranteed to be secure. It's a waste of money and time. That's why the general rule with the locals around KI is to either keep your items in your pockets or in the car.

Seriously though, I've lost a phone on a ride before so lessons were learned long ago. Though it was my girlfriend at the time's phone that took a flight so...whoops.

Oh bummer, Top Thrill Dragster was on my bucket list, along with Kinda Ka. So far I've only been on our local coaster, Xcelerator, which goes 82 mph in 2.3 seconds, but is only half as tall as top thrill dragster, at 205 feet.

Does KI not have lockers with a pin code lock? Cedar Point lockers have a pin code. Also, why are lockers $15? I'm assuming that's for an all day locker.

Some rides may not allow a fanny pack, I know some at Cedar Point doesn't allow fanny packs.

KI has pin code locks. It's just that some people will watch you put in your code and wait until you leave then steal your items. It's happened to a number of people over the years.

As for pricing, it differs per ride. Some rides will charge $2 for the first two hours and then an additional $2 every hour after for the small lockers. Others will have a time limit and if you exceed the limit, you'll be charged more. A full day small locker will cost $15 depending on the day. In 2014, it used to be $23 for a standard locker on certain days of the week but that may have changed.
