Did they go extinct naturally or was it due to human intervention?

if they went extinct because of human intervention, would it be ethical to not revive them?

I wanna say no, it isn't ethical. But at the same time, can we consider giving life unethical? It isn't like we are taking life, right? But we are also playing with nature...though we aren't shy of doing that, either.

I don't think so. If we caused a species' extinction but there was a way for us to bring it back, I would see it as unethical not to try. No question there.

It all depends on where you get your morals from. If you're in the "we shouldn't mess with nature" camp then idk why this is where you draw the line but OK. You do you.

depends. reviving the tasmanian tiger would be a good thing, they were a keystone species that humans wiped out. reviving a mammoth doesn't really make any sense at all though.

No. We need to work on preserving the species that need help now. Plus older life forms filled specific niches and we're used to different conditions then what we have in modern times. They might not be able to handle pollution, disease variants and the lack of plants/animals that made up their diets. The environment wouldn't be able to handle it either. Now if they were newly extinct and could be revived without bottle necking go for it. Though they wouldn't be exactly the same.

because the world has change over the last 4000 years and their potential range has only gotten smaller. reintroducing megafauna to the arctic circle isn't going to be feasible, they'd just end up a zoo attraction.
