They act like it's easy street and that poor people are just given endless amounts of money to stay home and buy anything they want. They'll say how people are taught to live off it for generations. "They make more money than a lot of people who work" would be sad if it was a real in a completely different way than they are implying

They're ignorant and have been brainwashed by the rich to hate other poor people instead of the rich people that actually make peoples' lives and society worse. They're the same ones who excuse or ignore the rich cheating on taxes and finding loopholes, but get enraged when they see someone buy steak or a candy bar with their EBT.

Because people assume if you're getting some help like food stamps or heating assistance it means you're also getting free healthcare, free housing, free phone, free car, free car insurance, free gas, and a leprechaun comes around once a week and gives you 1000 dollars in 20s.

Are there people who will milk the system and try to get every penny they can out of it? Sure. Are there people who get food stamps and sell them for cigarette money? Yeah. But probably not as many as a certain party would have you think. But I would rather that and try to catch the cheats than just offer no help at all.

I think it's a matter or pride to a lot of people.

It depends on the person. There are people struggling every day of their lives, and there are people who just fuck about and somehow manage to subsist on nothing while putting no care into actually giving their kids what they need.

I 'm on food stamps and me and nearly every person I know on them works or is at least attempting to work part time. Most would legit starve/be malnourished without them. Welfare mom pumping out kids to farm out government aid is really rare.

you know "food stamps" haven't been a thing for decades now, right? you get an EBT card which functions basically the same as a debit card. you can't sell your EBT card for cigarettes.
