Pokemon Mystery dungeon is probably the most notable Pokmon spin off series and it is among my most favorite series of games ever. Over two weeks later I am still really enjoying Pokemon legends: Arceus. It has flaws sure but it has all I have been playing lately.

Really hope Gamefreak continues on this path. Maybe a Pokmon Legends: Kyruem next for gen 5?

Gritty adventure of random pokemon scientist first subjugating Mewtwo, then fighting his way through Blaine and Team Rocket to free Mewtwo.

I really hope that the next Legends game does Unova next. I really want to finally see the Original Dragon.

That would be hype as fuck

It won't become a spinoff series because it's a main series.

It was the top selling game in January, and so far it's sold 6.5 million copies. Odds are this has convinced Nintendo to get the sequel going.

I hope this becomes the main series, and that they're given more than 1-2 years to develop a game for once so that they can actually flesh it out

Ah, I was mistaken: It sold 6.5 mil in the first week of release, more than BDSP, and SWSH for that matter. I don't know how much it has currently sold, though.

Damn. That fact that it opened stronger then the past two traditional games is huge. I didnt even bother buying BDSP because its the same damn game we played before, they barely changed anything from what I have heard.

They made it so easy that it's actually a pain to avoid overleveling. Kinda nuts.

Until the E4 that is. I dodged trainers left and right until them, took me like 4 hours to eventually beat Cynthia. Problem is I was updating my team every few hours while playing because between affection and permanent exp share, I was steamrolling everything with negative effort on my part.

Until the Elite 4. That difficulty spike was bullshit.

Oh yeah thats a bad trend with Pokmon. Its so easy these days.

The wild Pokmon in Arceus hit ridiculously hard. Its kinda nuts

Need a game adaption of that Magikarp CYOA from a few months ago.

It should really be the new standard for the mainline games. Pokemon's formula is stale, Game Freak should take Arceus' gameplay and expand upon it for Gen 9.

Kinda seems like a waste of the system they've carried on for decades. I haven't played a traditional game in a while because I have grown bored of them, but they do have a lot more complexity with a larger and more diverse move pool plus abilities. Of course, I'm sure that's more or less what you mean by building upon the Legends battle system, but completely abandoning the old ways would be weird.

It feels like a 2 step forward 2 step back kind of game. The battle system is kind of lackluster imo, but the open areas is pretty cool even though they come off as empty at times.

Even though the net gain is 0. I do think it's a solid step in the right direction for the main series. I'd keep the traditional battle system over Legends.

I disagree. I been watching videos of Pokemon showdown and all I can think of is how much better the combat is in legends.

I was talking mad shit about the game prior to release but I ended up buying it the other day and it's a fucking blast. Way better than SWSH

I'm not terribly far into it but so far, the battle system doesn't seem that much different to me.

The major differences are:

• Agile/Strong moves
• Buffs and Debuffs no longer stack
• Moves have been homogenized
• Status overhaul. Confusion is gone. Toxic is gone. Sleep replaced with drowsiness and works basically the same as paralysis.
• Turn order is now FFX style

Pokemon Myth Unown needs to be a thing

Introduce Unown new form called Unown Alpha which are fusion of all the unowns letters. Hidden Powers are upgraded to Deep Hidden Powers with has 120 base power.

Signature moves: Deep Hidden Powers
Special 95/--- 15pp
Type: Normal
Type changes depending on the user. Has 50% chance of making foe's pokemon flinch.

Unown Alpha
Ability: Unknown Aura-powers up Super Effective moves by 1.5x
