From a plot perspective it wouldn't work since Meryl wouldn't fall in love with Ling and they wouldn't team up. Ling also wouldn't notice Meryl's fatt butt swinging as she ran. I also think she would stick out way more and seriously struggle to beat Gray Fox and Liquid in a fist fight.
