They allow you to drink without holding the glass.

If only we had a way to consume liquids from a cup without a straw...

but since we're not made out of non-biodegradable materials, we'll decompose.

plus we'll die quicker, and leave less of a carbon footprint, so it's a win-win, as far as the earth is concerned.

Drinking without a straw isn't safe either because if you're driving it can spill easier and cause you to crash and die.

Plastic straws actually save lives.

With a drink, nothing is escaping regardless. With a fart, you gotta get the potency through the straw in one go. It dilutes by 99% immediately once it leaves the anus. Your lips can't always suction good enough for the same results either. Straw is the only logical way

Yeah fuck paper straws. I don't care if they are good for the enviroment. Putting a dry ass paper straw on my moist lips is one of the worst feelings in the world.

Straws are still handy when drinking coffee/soda. Unless you want to end up with stained or transparent teeth.

Atleast you're taking yourself out with the environment. Can't say you're not fair.

But on a serious note. The straw thing is just a distraction from the things really setting us back. It's ridiculous to focus on straws.

Straws are great for minimizing acid conduct to your teeth when drinking fruit juices and soda.
Obviously it's best to avoid acidic drinks altogether if that's a concern.
