The assumption is that they'll end up on Hulu in the U.S. and on Disney+ everywhere else

Wouldn't it make more sense for them to go to Disney+ directly since that's where literally all the other MCU stuff is?

Does Disney+ have any R rated content?

Eh, I watched at least the first season of everything but punisher.

Saw defenders too.

Not much interest left.

In the U.S., Disney+ is a family-friendly streaming service so they'll probably use Hulu for more mature content.

Although there's a possibility they'll expand Disney+ to have more adult content (probably with a disclaimer).

Disney+ has the Simpsons in its entirety, dude. And I'd put some of their other Marvel stuff on par with the Netflix shows.

I didn't know that netflix could lose these. I'd probably rewatch Punisher s1 every few years if it stayed there.

Not in the US. Internationally Disney+ has a hub called Star where all the mature stuff goes. In the US Disney puts the mature stuff on Hulu since they own a majority of that service. And Hulu does not exist outside the US.

I thought Netflix had permanent rights to those since they made them.

There's not been a single moment in any Marvel show that compares to a guy's head being smashed off with a car door, with the decapitated body being shown.

And The Simpsons is relatively tame especially compared to adult cartoons that have come out after it.

They only had the distribution rights. The shows themselves were produced by ABC studios, which is of course owned by Disney.

It's a similar situation to the Hulk actually.

There's some speculation that Disney is actually the one trying to pull them from the streaming service, likely because they already have plans for where to put the shows.

There's also speculation that this is because Disney might try to do either a new season of DD or some sort of revival series.

Keep in mind there's also rumors that we may see Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones pop up in one of the upcoming Disney+ series.

Tbf, the original deal was that all the characters revert to Disney 2 years after Netflix has cancelled them. I doubt they didn't build in a clause eventually removing them from Netflix too.

Like others here I just assumed all this time that Netflix "owned" them since they were "Netflix originals." I've actually kind of been itching to rewatch season one and two of Daredevil and finally watch season 3. Hopefully they pop up on Hulu or where ever sooner than later.

Any anime fan can tell you that "Netflix Original" is just a marketing gimmick and not an indication that they actually own anything. They've lost several of their so-called originals just a year or two after putting them up.
