Even after 150 hours Im back in, and amusingly after a quicker than expected beta Israel run Im going for a unite all of Africa run which I never did in the original and doesnt have a ton to do with the expansion. I kind of burned out after forging the Roman empire

expansion thoughts:
Artifacts are sweet.
Holding court Im a little iffier on. Seems like it slows down an already glacial game
The button that lets me automatically gift titles to someone of my culture is a godsend

I had my first foray into Crusader Kings last year, so I'm still very much scaling the learning curve. Putting more emphasis on the high court sounds very much up my alley, though. I don't really know much about any of the other additions to the game. I haven't fully learned all the different ways I can go about it.

Gave up on my unite all Africa run. Got to an empire in two generations but then all hell broke loose. Trying to hold an empire together in tribal government with a culture that was lagging behind just didnt work.

Think Im going to try again and sprint to North Africa to try to get into a feudal culture. Maybe that will work better
