https://www.cnbc.com/2022/02/06/worst-us-airline-is-jetblue-not-spirit-or-frontier-wsj-ranking.html

1. Delta Air Lines
2. Alaska Airlines
3. Southwest Airlines
4. United Airlines
5. Allegiant Air
Tie-6. American Airlines
Tie-6. Frontier Airlines
8. Spirit Airlines
9. JetBlue Airways

The analysis found that JetBlue had the highest rate of extreme delays and incidents where passengers had to wait on the tarmac for at least two hours. JetBlue also had the second-fewest on-time arrivals, behind only Allegiant Air, and the second-most customer complaints behind Spirit, according to the ranking.

It wasnt all bad news for JetBlue: The carrier had the fourth-fewest involuntary bumpings and cancellations. JetBlue did end the year by cancelling about 1,280 flights from Dec. 30 through Jan. 13 after a surge in Covid-19 infections, but most of those cancellations didnt appear in the analysis, which was restricted to 2021 data.

Well the more volume of passengers and flights you have, the more chances for bad stuff to happen. Wed have to go by percentage of incidents per airline.

I flew American recently and they really slipped. Of course the pandemic clearly affected how far they were willing to go for passengers and it showed.

Delays arent how I evaluate which airline is the worst. Its a bunch of assholes swearing at each other and almost getting into a fistfight in the row behind me. Spirit is the worst.

I did air traffic control for nine years, and unless the delay is caused by the aircraft itself on the ground for maintenance or whatever, I'm not blaming the airline itself for a delay.

Spirit and Frontier are the worst because the quality of the entire experience is so bad.

Ive never had a bad experience on any spirit or frontier. In fact, last time they upgraded my seat to the big seat and gave me priority boarding. Our flight to Denver had 40 people

I read this wrong and was about to start throwing hands at Delta being the #1 worst. They fucking rock, it's basically all I fly. Honestly debating getting their credit card. Not sure why I haven't already.

Surprised at American being low. I flew them over thanksgiving. Biggest complaint was no in-headseat monitors. They had in-flight entertainment with a decent selection, but you had to use your own device to connect to their in-flight intranet. They had a little foldout in the headrest in front of you to prop your phone up, but still. My phone is tiny and not everyone wants to pack a tablet. Also the fact that they actually advertise their credit card towards the end of the flight and literally have a flight attendant walk up and down the aisle with a brochure in case anyone wants it. Like god damn, talk about taking advantage of a captive audience.

Two relatively minor complaints but all in all not enough to bring it down to 6th IMO.

But Delta will always be king so long as I live in MSP territory.

Frontier is decent. Spirit stinks. Those seats are like children's seats in shopping carts.

I've flown Delta twice, both were very nice flights.

I hope they keep the Frontier seats and not the Spirit ones.

I don't mind budget airlines. If I'm making a short L.A. to SF, PHX or Vegas run I can deal with it. I can eat snacks and fuck around on my tablet for 45 minutes to an hour or two.

Cross country I am going to need some amenities.

To me, the worst part of budget airlines is the clientele. By no means am I saying I am better than anyone, but on budget airlines there are a lot of people who do not know how to fly. Airlines should not be competing with Greyhound - but they are.
