In the profile. Puts them at the least amount of risk and people know exactly what they are getting into so there is less possibility of awkward convo later on

Whenever they feel comfortable with someone. That is an intensely personal thing and no sane person goes around blabbing to people they don't know and trust. Asking them to disclose on other's terms removes their agency and goes against all human nature.

When they are comfortable and feel safe in doing so.

plenty of people are cool with it, and in theory you'll only match with those who are. absolutely saves an awkward conversation down the road plus reduces the chance of them getting hurt either emotionally or physically after a couple of dates

Yes, on their dating profile. It's basically putting your sexual preferences and sexuality upfront which is one of the most important matchmaking qualities.

As a hetero male, I get matched with lesbians on tinder occasionally for some reason (just like I get random dudes too), and sometimes they write they are only looking for women.

I think most of the transgender women I match with DO list on their profile that they are transgender, which I am greatful for.

It saves time for both people and weeds out the ones that aren't good matches for you.There really should be no problem/debate with this. Otherwise it's similar to interviewing for a job and telling them you are employed, when you really aren't. It's a big deal, and its deceit. You are desperate, but it will only backfire on you and it won't make you feel at peace.

Just be upfront about things that matter to others the most, like obvious deal breakers. No need to hide stuff like that. Be proud of who you are. Stuff like your mental health (suffering from depression or other issues), and history, you don't need to tell on your first date. Just handle your shit the best you can.

If we are talking about dating, it's important. Mostly for their safety and also to just weed out people who aren't good matches for you.

And it's really not that much different than being upfront about your sexual preferences and sexuality for anyone that needs to know, which they would if it regards dating.

Depends where you both reside, and meet - in certain countries it is important to disclose it before sex, otherwise it is considered "rape by deception".
