Are they bad games?

I guess if you user name has to do with food this is an issue

they're not bad games, from my experience, but Persona 1 is probably the weakest in the series, and Persona 2 is one of the stronger entries, depending on who you ask and on which part you're talking about.

as to why they're not talked about as much, it's probably because of who stylistically different they are from P3-P5, with no social stuff and being less anime-like.

This, and they lack the elements that made the games starting with Persona 3 popular (notably social links and the sim-ish structure of the P3-and-later games). They hued closer to the mainline SMT series in gameplay and tone.

cuz they suck. Persona started at like 3, like how Final Fantasy started at 7.

Persona 1 is...ugh.

I think Persona 2 is still pretty sweet and unique, but it could definitely use a remake.

For the same reason no one talks about Grand Theft Auto 1 and 2. They haven't aged that well and the sequels are much better.

Persona 2 has the best story and characters, but more importantly they don't have that goddamn social link game mechanic. Now if they just had the gameplay of modern Persona theyd be perfect

Because just like Grand Theft Auto and Fallout, Persona saw some very large changes starting with Persona 3. The first 2 games aren't bad, but if you started with any of the modern games, it feels pretty jarring going back and playing the old games. And a lot of people haven't gone back and played the original games.
