This. The first movie follows the beats of a horror film more than it does an action film, whereas T2 is a straight-up action film.

The first two Terminator films are classics, but they scratch a different itch.

Finished the 3rd one. It was cheesy and wasn't as "serious" as the 1st and 2nd, but I sort of liked it. The twists were great: US built Skynet, the officer sent the daughter and John to a safe space and not the main computer; then the world exploded. Definitely didn't see the last one coming. I enjoyed 3 more than 1, but like 2 the most.

So the next one is Terminator Salvation, and that has a 33% on RT... must suck. I might watch it tomorrow.

I don't know if anyone explained this yet, but people always misunderstand how rotten tomatoes scoring works.

It is a review aggregator. So 100% doesn't mean critics thought it was a perfect movie; it means 100% of reviews they collected on RT gave it at least a somewhat positive review resulting in a thumbs up.

If 100% of people give a movie a 6/10, that would still get 100% on RT.
