Just thought it was interesting.

If you are out of the loop, they probably did this because of Whoopi Goldberg's recent comments that the holocaust wasn't about racism, because it mostly involved white people. Under the ADL's old stupid definition, she would apparently be technically correct lol

with the first definition, what happened to white people/white farmers in Zimbabwe, for example, wouldn't fit.

The Anti-Defamation League made the right call in changing their definition.

If the definition of racism is when white people harbor racial bigotry toward members of other ethnic groups, then bigotry toward white people could accurately be described as "reverse racism." And we don't need to validate any politician who stuck their foot in their mouth using that term.

So you're saying no black/Asian/Hispanic/whatever minority would make it in on their own merits? Sounds pretty racist to me.

Besides, if the whole point is equality, then accepting people based on their own merits is exactly what they should do.

Man, I thought this was a couple of weeks ago. Right wing Twitter was having a fit because they changed the definition to the privileges white people definition after having had a more standard definition prior. Its interesting that they changed it back.

Yeah. And even in a system that favors white people individuals can still be racist towards white people.

In America and some other places white people are far less likely to the victims of racism but it can and does happen.

They didn't "originally" have it that way, either - in 2017, they changed it to the woke definition because their actual original definition (a feeling of someone's perceived inferiority due to immutable characteristics) wasn't inclusive enough.
