If you were given the chance would you become a vampire?

Pros:

• "Immortality", though technically you are the living dead.
• Eternal youth, as long as you keep yourself "fed".
• Enhanced physical prowess.
• You become very very persuasive somehow.

Cons:

• You are weak to sunlight and fire, you will live an eternity in the shadows.
• You must feed on warm blood. Animals are OK, but still it's gross. Normal food doesn't taste like anything and you don't get nourishment from it. If you don't feed you don't die, but you become ugly and feral and lose your mind.
• You have some arbitrary weaknesses, like crosses (sometimes), silver, you can't enter houses without being invited, can't look at yourself on the mirror, etc.
• There might be vampire hunters out there, or rival vampires.

• You can turn others into vampires through some unspecified ritual.

One of my favorite bits about this is from (the otherwise mediocre) Shadows of New York, where you play Julia, a Lasombra vampire.
She needs to have her girlfriend apply her makeup, because she doesn't have a reflection(in Vampire: The Masquerade, this is a Lasombra-only bane: other vampires have reflections) and thus can't do it herself. And she needs to trust her girlfriend to do a good job because she has no way of knowing what her face looks like.
Really, the only really good part of that game (IMO) is its exploration of Julia's fraught relationship with her human girlfriend, and their mutual struggle to stay connected to one another even though they live in completely different realities.

I guess how bad it is depends on what kind of rules your vampirism adheres by. Like, in VtM, you don't have to kill for your blood: in fact, it's considered very bad to drain a human dry, but vampires in other universes have no choice but to kill.
Of course, in VtM, your unlife is going to be a constant mess of centuries-old political intrigues in which you are likely doomed to be nothing but a pawn, which seems like a total drag. I think I would be sorely tempted to catch a sunrise.
