Just updated my, imo, not particularly impressive resume, and Ive been getting tons of recruiter and interview interest

and places in all industries are hiring, with way higher starting pay than even a few years ago

no better way to get a bump in pay than switching somewhere else thats willing to pay you more from the jump

loyalty is overrated

I just did a couple of months ago.

Waiting for my university to process my MA so I can start applying to CC faculty positions for the Fall.

A very important one:
A defined benefit or DB pension (also known as a final salary pension) is a special type of workplace pension. Instead of building up a pension pot over time, it provides you with a guaranteed annual income for life, based on your final or average salary (hence the name).

Because the last couple of years has shown how valuable job security is, and I was already happy with my pay and responsitrilities

No credentials, doubt I can do better than I am where I'm currently even though I'm doin p bad

I make good money and am generally happy with where I am. Plus bonus doesn't pay until March

Too busy getting paid and getting laid.

Because why would I want to go to another job where not only am I lower on the corporate totem pole, but also make less then I do now by a significant percentage?

I just got a raise.

Im happy where I am too, but Im looking at comparable jobs at different places and seeing salaries 20-30% higher than what Im making now

thats just the job market todayideally my current company would counter to keep me but Im sure I could be happy elsewhere as well

I am I just had a interview yesterday

The company I work for pays me decently and I get yearly raises that aren't just small cost of living increases and a good bonus each yeah.

If I have to come in late because of a doctors appointment they don't make me use vacation/sick time because "I've probably worked late some nights to make up for it" which I have.

They don't give you shit if you need to leave early and you can just put in some time and leave. Not feeling work today but you're ahead of your workload and current stuff is done? Go ahead and take off. Workload is kind of low? No shame in taking a day off.

No thanks. I've been here for over 10 years. I know my job, get paid pretty well and I'm in a position of power.

I like my current job

Because I have a lot of job security. I dont want to end up at a job I suck at and lose my benefits and steady (but very bad) pay just because I'm unhappy with my job.

Because I just got hired in October and it's my first "career" job, so I gotta wait until I have more leverage.

What's your long-term plan for work? You have some exit plan, right?

Mostly because I don't feel like going through the pleasantries of interviews and impressing my new team all over again.
That and I enjoy telework. The idea of going back to 2+ hours a day on the road....I just don't want to go back to that.

Need to get serious about leaving though.

Tbh the nice thing about looking for new jobs when youre happy at your current job is you can be picky, and you have leverage to negotiate

if I was offered a job with worse benefits, or an unreasonable in-office requirement, or pay that wasnt worth the commute, I can try to negotiate or just say no

Taking a break. Will probably end up in another job that does nothing for me, so why rush it?

Right now, I'm working from home and it's giving me additional time to work on my book.

I left my managerial role at one of the best wine programs in the world back in October to get back into the world of beer and haven't regretted it at all.

Currently, I am in a holding pattern....it's too cold to make move right now.

I did get two job offers in one day last week though.
I am not sure what I think of my current job anymore, but it is great for networking.

I like my job.

I was planning on transferring positions in the company Im at, hopefully soon. As it is though, if I start working from home, it might open me up to applying elsewhere. If the position shift doesnt happen.

Same. 70% pay increase from my last job, too.

I was looking last fall but I ended up getting a 20% raise unexpectedly because we were seeing a lot of turnover all of a sudden, so now I'm willing to stay for the time being.

It's a wine and spirits company. Was interviewing at Diageo about 2 months ago (didn't get the job) and that would've been like a 15% raise and I'd get 6 months fully paid paternity. But then I'd have to go into the office 2-3 times a week as opposed to now I go 2-3 times a month. I live in NJ btw, but the offices for my company and Diageo would be NYC which is like a 45 min commute on NJ Transit.

Diageo is a great portfolio though.

I am, I've been getting rejected for 3 years now.

my current job is going to be the one i retire from. if i taker another one it will be because they were looking for me, not the other way around

Interesting...But you know you would get so much pushback from saying one of the best in the world.
The wine industry really is snobby as fuck. ~It lives up to its own stereotype.....to the point where it is hurting the industry.

The wine cellar is basically unmatched, not just in quantity (166,000 bottles) but quality. Blackberry is consistently noted for the quality of it's wine selection. And bourbon as well. I'm pretty sure Blackberry has the largest collection of Pappy Van Winkle in the states.

And yes wine is overly snobby. At a certain price point you're just paying for a name and rarity. I can tell the difference between $20 and $100 Pinot, but beyond that it's all fluff.

Retention bonus at the end of February, then I'm looking.

Costco pays me $22 an hour, time and a half on Sundays, I work 25 hours a week there from 4am to 9am. That gives me enough time to go home and sell stuff on eBay. Mostly toy trains, hand made duck decoys, comics and Star Wars toys. I used to go to flea markets on Saturdays but Ive got too much inventory to sell right now.

I like my job. They let me do pretty much whatever I want as long as I get results. I'm often chatting up models as part of my responsibilities. The pay is solid and I like my coworkers.
