Does the fact that it's the Taiwan server affect anything? Like lag or other connection speed issues? I've occasionally thought of trying this, but since my phone is a potato I'd either have to play the steam version or use an android emulator.

I saw some videos of this a while ago, a few Sigma boss fights and characters that'd never been playable before. It's a damn shame this kind of fanservice has gone to waste on mobile shit.

Lag is the big thing for the Taiwan server (mostly because you get more matches with people across the globe). The only mode where it matters is PvP, though, so how much it would effect your experience would depend on how much you care about that.

I would genuinely play the hell out of something like this if it was a game made in the same style as castlevania harmony of despair. Basically a game where you can play alone or with online co-op, 6 people teaming up to tearing shit up in various mega man x style levels they can make on the fly. Keep the same concept where the playable characters is from all of the different mega man games and have a system where you just hunt for rare drops....various weapons and armor equipment, and make something like the different character variations like black zero, that hot marino etc. the rarest drops. No gacha shit, just a straight up console and PC game like with castlevania harmony of despair. If they must charge for something, let it be more stage dlc.

I would just be slapping every single capcom executive in the face with wads of cash if a game like this existed, but I don't do the gacha crap and never plan to. Bah, lol.

Okay downloaded it. So far levels are pretty easy, they basically added an auto aim to it so you just shoot anything in your direction, but I assume the game will get more difficult. You also pull different weapons, and you can equip two to any character. There's a mix of guns and melee weapons, I got a scythe and a sniper gun I'm using. Each character also has two special attacks. All weapons and attacks have some kind of cool down.
Despite the additions it does have a MegaMan feel to it.
I might play a bit casually, I already have too many games with dailies in them to do.

Do you get like a regular MegaMan at the start? That's all I'd really be interested in as far as characters to play levels with

Yes you start with regular MegaMan as the default character, and there are other versions of him you can unlock

You start with X and you eventually unlock Axl, Marino, Zero, Alia, and Masimo for free iirc. There's events where you unlock original Mega Man, Z's Zero, Volnutt, EXE, and Aile from doing missions

Basically any character that is Rank B or Rank A, you'll get for free eventually. The Rank S character iirc you don't get for free unless it's a special event where they give out a voucher or something

I pulled the crazy dragonfire Zero from the Collab. He's not who I was going for but he seems pretty sick so far

Well, it's at least a lot better then what they did to Breath of Fire where it didn't play or act like a real bof game while trying to claim itself as the offical 6th entry.

This at least looks fun enough to try.

I gave the game a shot and while I can say it's not bad for a phone game in gameplay, I just couldn't get into ti and wanted a real Mega Man X game instead. I dunno, stages being broken up into small parts just wasn't doing it for me and I could tell they start me off overpowered before they'll likely throw a wall I can't get pass without grinding or getting a top tier character. Won't lie though, I really wanted that Monster Hunter version of Zero.

Quickest breakdown I can give is that it was a gacha game similar to this but for random recruits and boasted a 'massive' party because of that when the series was known for using a small band of characters who tell and move the story well. You also played as an OC bro/sis to Ryu who didn't even appear in the game until several updates later (which I admit, I liked the design) after people complained he wasn't there. Gameplay itself wasn't turned base. Just tap on enemy, hit buttons for moves by the looks of things. It flopped so hard, it never made it out of Japan but at the time they had the gall to call this the official new title in the series rather then a spin off.

Here's an example of the gameplay loop it might of had. A lot of people thought they just bought out another game and reskinned it a bit to try to make it more 'BoF' in order to sell it.:

Yep you're exactly right, I'm already hitting a point where even using a slow-shooting legendary sniper weapon it's taking three shots to kill some enemies, and they do a pretty nasty amount of damage to me.
I got lucky and pulled the Monster Hunter Zero, and I've been relying heavily on his special skills but even that isn't cutting it.

Have you been upgrading your weapons? you need to level them up and rank up their attributes or they'll just fall behind

I upgraded their damage but didn't do other stats yet. I sometimes hesitate to spend materials if I'm new to the game. I'll probably do that next time I log on
I only have enough resources to rank up one S rank weaponband I only have the sniper, a scythe and a sword. I have a lot of A rank weapons so I'm wondering if I should give one of those a try

I beat a few more levels but I'm over 10000 power level behind the one I'm at.
I upgraded to level 30 armor, used some more resources on my sniper rifle... I can rank up Zero and my sniper once but I'd prefer to save some materials.

Grreeeat, I did another Event pull trying to get Zinogre Iris, got excited when I saw that orange character pull, only for it to be another Valsrtrax Zero.
At least I got some memory pieces with it, so I went ahead and ranked him up again. Didn't seem to do much...

Ranking up unlocks skills they can use. Some of them are busted. Like Black Zero gets a shield at rank 4 that he can charge every 10 seconds and is the size of his health bar lol

Oh nice. Yeah I did see that it opened a new passive, but I can't yet get the resources to unlock it.
I don't have Black Zero yet, hopefully I'll pull him soonish. Though Valsrtrax Zero's skills are pretty nuts

Okay I figured out some things I was doing wrong -- things I could have upgraded and didn't notice mostly.
So I'm back to being able to clear levels for now

Guess I'll rank him up again...
