An Alameda County official tells ABC7 News there will now be what is called a "vicious dog hearing" to decide the fate of the dog.

HAYWARD, Calif. (KGO) -- Wednesday night Alameda County Animal Services took away a pit bull that killed another dog earlier this week and injured a grandmother in Hayward.

Authorities confirm that this pit bull has now killed at least two dogs in less than four years.

"He sniffed her forehead for one second, she's still wiggling her tail, and in a split second before I can even grab her, he turned his head, opened his mouth and grabbed her by the throat," says Yolanda Salazar.

Salazar is describing what happened when the dog, seen in our SKY7 video recorded on Wednesday night, killed her dog "Little Bit" as they were walking back from the Dollar Store on Monday.

She broke down crying as we spoke with her.

"At that point he started to shake her and she started to scream and scream and scream for about five or 10 seconds. He was shaking her and at that point I started hitting him and kicking him. I had a handful of groceries and I finally dropped the groceries and I tried to kick him, and I wasn't even phasing him... She stopped screaming, I heard her little neck snap," says Salazar.

Painful memories of her 14-year-old Chihuahua-Jack Russell Mix dying in front of her eyes from an off-leash pit bull roaming the neighborhood.

In fact, officials confirm the dog also killed Yolanda's other dog back in 2018. Wednesday night, more than 48 hours later, the dog in question was taken away by Alameda County animal control.

Holy shit the pit bull killed her previous dog. Hopefully this dangerous dog story ends with a "the dog waslater destroyed" outcome so it can never kill again.

....it killed one her dogs and she didn't take any action but instead let it around another dog. She seems just as responsible for the 2nd dogs death. Imagine your kid killing your other kid and then just having that kid still stay around another kid. Literally enabling murder.

If you aren't some kind of a professional in a controlled environment, you shouldn't be allowed to own animals that can kill non-hostile animals. I feel like the owners are equally guilty by negligence. They should be tried for animal murder, and the pit bull should be immediately put down.

Killing another animal is not a small deed in the modern society. We have food within reach at almost all times without having to kill ourselves, so there's no excuse. There's no place for animals like this

I hate people right now.

For breeding these things.

For being irresponsible owners.

Wait, was it someone elses pitbull who killed the dogs? If it was, I agree with your yake on my first post. I just don't see how a dog killing another dog isn't a closed and shut case immediately.

Just read it again. So, the dog killed another person's dog, but then it was found out that it had also killed a dog that was owned by the same person the Pitbull is owned by? So the owner still seen the signs, didn't take action and allowed it the opportunity to kill soneone else's dog?

Yeah, my first analogy was way off then. So, it would be doing nothing about your kid killing your other kid and putting OTHER people's kids at harm by exposing it to other people's kids.... that's even worse. What a shit person. Anything she has major majority influence on is obviously more likely gonna be shit too.

I don't get why people here are so focused on the dog to the point they almost never touch on the owner. We're literally arguing that we should be held mostly responsible for what our dogs do and they're like "Fuck you, kill all pitbulls". Lol. If that's not blood hungry, I don't know what is. It would literally benefit me if they're right about dogs and focus more on the dog lol. Cause my dog would take all the hate while I got overlooked and forgotten that I was even involved >_>. Then I could just go do something else that hurts people. They're so narrow sighted.

Yeah.. If someone's dog kills my animal, I'm gonna ensure that the dog doesn't get the opportunity to do it again. Provided it's not a result of my own negligence.
