In 2003, Jeopardy changed their rule limiting champions to 5 successive wins, so that they could keep coming back as long as they kept winning. That made me wonder: how many 5+ champs have we seen since then? I perused the J! Archive website and came up with the following numbers: 5-Time: 51 6-Time: 23 7-Time: 12 8-Time: 7 9-Time: 3 11-Time: 2 12-Time: 2 13-Time: 1 19-Time: 2 20-Time: 1 32-Time: 1 38-Time: 1 40-Time: 1 74-Time: 1 TOTAL: 108 As you can see, an interesting pattern arose in which each bracket had roughly half the number of champions as the previous bracket. Once people get in the range of 20-ish games, however, all bets are off. ... Copied to Clipboard!
