There's also "box tickers" whose sole purpose is to make sure other people are doing their jobs.....which wouldn't be necessary if you just hired the right people in the first place.

How do you know whether or not you've hired the right person? How do you assess it on a macro level?

Other workers usually have a pretty good idea of who the weak links are and can certainly provide a better assessment of somebody versus someone who isn't involved in the day-to-day operations and just pops in every now and then to observe them over the course of a few hours.

Corporate lawyers, for example, don't provide any real value to society and only exist because other firms also have lawyers.

So who does the interviewing that collects all the opinions of the various workers? How does one collect and compile this data?

Honestly the host of that show comes across way worse than that mod did.

Corporate lawyers are necessary to the extent that they protect a corporation from legal scrutiny and from being screwed over by another business with their own team of lawyers.

But their necessity is self-fulfilling and they're not needed to keep society functioning. In fact, in many cases, their sole job is to find exploitable loopholes to prevent companies from being otherwise held accountable for unethical practices.

There is absolutely no way a corporation could survive without a team of lawyers. And removing them from the equation would have a profound effect on the outlook, which would affect everything right down to the lowest on the totem pole.

Nobody should have to live paycheck to paycheck in a shitty 9 to 5 job getting paid less than 10 bucks an hour 5 days a week while also being treated like its an honor to work the job you're working. We do need to raise the minimum wage and workers compensation.

...But that also doesn't change the fact that there are a good chunk of people who want to be leeches to society and contribute nothing but still get paid and get benefits the people who actually work and contribute. r/antiwork was actually what this was until recently where its now just people not wanting to be mistreated at work, the leeches got drowned out by actual rational people.

Also on a similar note, there was this Twitter thread back in 2020 where someone asked what their jobs would be if they left current society and started their own Leftist Commune. The people who participated had the answers you would expect.

Once I saw Fox News, I knew it was over. There's no way they would've paint him in a good light. Shit was a trap.

Though I initially overlooked the part where they said that the incident gave them PTSD. Compared to the person they were mistreating next to against their will, who's had they put on their junk while they slept, and after they disabled alarms this other person set specifically so they wouldn't fall asleep together.

You're missing the point. How billionaires are portrayed in mass media is never as leeches. Focusing on a few bad actors in a large movement is an attempt to undermine the movement and you're falling for it.

Also, leeches who are literally killing the world are far worse than leeches with a tiny footprint. Claiming "a leech is a leech" is like proclaiming "violence is violence" when talking about killing someone vs flicking them with your finger.

The rich being leeches to society doesn't magically make leeches of the poor better that I should champion or not call out.

Working 10 to 15 hours a week expecting the world to pamper you because it pampers someone else and you feel you shouldn't have to work, makes that person a leech. Rich or poor, they're a leech.

Yet the bigger leeches don't get anywhere near the same amount of attention. You're giving the same importance to a candle being lit as a house being on fire.
