Inspired by SNESDrunk's "Unconventional Ways to Play Classic Super Nintendo Games" videos. (You should definitely check SNESDrunk out).

Finding alternate ways of playing a game, whether by doing a self-imposed challenge, or just playing a game differently than it was intended, are a good way of spicing up games you've played hundreds of times.

I'll start with the 30 Melon Challenge in Yoshi's Story, where you try to get all of the 30 Melons in each level, and NO OTHER FRUIT. It's basically like Hard Mode for the game. Particular Mushroom has a video that goes into more detail.

I was only able to 30 melon a few levels. I think the level completion is marked differently if you get all 30 of them? It's been awhile.

Every piece of the Rock Band musical controllers have been used to beat Dark Souls, including the microphone with a 1.5 second delay.

Someone also wired up a bunch of bananas to his computer and used them to beat it.

Also, it's not really a self-imposed challenge since he didn't choose the limitation, but a dude who has been blind since birth once beat Ocarina of Time based entirely on sound.

I did that too once. That game is still really easy >_> Honestly the only hard part was not paying attention during dungeons and getting off-screened by Keese too often.

Dirt had fully customizable button mappings. Even leaving some buttons unmapped was possible. So I left the change camera button unmapped to lock the camera to the in-car POV.

Me and my wife have a weird way of randomizing Hades. We have trivia quiz book, and when I get to a door or boon choice, I have to answer a question. If I get it right, I get to choose the door/boon I want, if not, she chooses the worst option.
