Like this weird period where the gaming industry was so focused on being taken super serious that it so many games ended up being the most juvenile they've ever been. Link coyly winking at the camera? The outrage carrying on until the game came out and affecting fans after the game came out was pretty ridiculous though. Wind Waker is one of the best in the series and a sequel of sorts to OOT.
