I'm pretty sure the "Ukraine-Russia thing" is the result of Russia amassing troops near the Ukraine border, which is making people think Putin is going to try to invade Ukraine.

Yeah, they do. For example, last year there was a huge NATO exercise in Eastern Europe, right at the Russian border.

The same thing with China and Taiwan. You might have noticed how a few months ago, the media was in a frenzy over China's supposed invasion of Taiwan, and nothing came out of that. Now the narrative has changed, and it's all about Russia and Ukraine, but in a few months ago, nothing will have happened, and the media will go back to fearmongering about China and Taiwan, and so on.

The media has us well-trained. They have people talking about whether we should intervene halfway across the world in hypothetical scenarios that will never happen, rather than questioning the veracity of their information.

And yet, they still didn't decide to move their troops because of media fear mongering, like you claim they do every few months. They certainly didn't do so because of their own fear mongering.

2. This is something normal that Countries and alliances do
3. Media, however, misinforms and tells people that Country is about to invade or cause WW3
4. This leads to heightened nationalism and support for war/military industrial complex
5. Country stops moving troops around
6. Media finds to other countries to fearmonger about.
