It's should be out in a few months and will have widescreen, 60fps, and be able to incorporate mods; similarly to the Mario 64 PC port from a few years ago. Apparently this reverse engineering is made legal because the fans involved did not use any leaked content, nor use any of Nintendos original copyrighted assets. kirbymuncher 01/25/22 8:44:09 AM #5:	the decompilation is already done* but I guess the part that's being worked on now is working out all the other bits that make it a truly functioning port. kinda interesting to see how it all shakes out, I'd mostly thought of the decomp as a way to learn things about the game (and many things have definitely been learned) but I guess you can also make stuff out of it. * (for a single specific version, but my understanding is that a lot of the knowledge is transferable) --- THIS IS WHAT I HATE A BOUT EVREY WEBSITE!! If they made enough changes to the game, they could distribute it legally and make a profit. Nintendo doesn't care about it being a fan's love letter to a game they cherish. The game has already been reverse-engineered and made open source, so the process of porting it is relatively simple.
