It's weirdly hard to get in the UK, even in asian supermarkets. Like gochujang is everywhere but the pepper flakes are oddly rarer. Maybe less shelf stable.

I've only ordered it online. never seen it here in the US in the wild, but not exactly in a good area for that kind of thing.

i bought some kimchi from H-mart, so is that what they put in it? It looks spicy but its not spicy at all. Its good though

That's the spicy part. Depending on how they made it, they probably used squid paste, fish sauce and maybe even soy to make up some of the other flavour.

Raw garlic and ginger also.

Gochujang is a hot sauce, gochu-garu is just "chili powder" in Korean. And in a generic sense Gochujang is chili powder, glutinous rice, fermented soy paste, malt powder, and salt. Obviously there can potentially be more but that's the base line that the popular brands will all follow.

And I ate Samgye Tang for dinner. RIP the meme I suppose.
