Pretty much everyone over 25 I discussed this with agrees with the dad if he didn't make the racist remarks.

They either didn't read up on the whole story or are delusional.

He fucked up the order by not specifying the allergy. He gave it to his kid. He's the one who decided to go to the store and terrorize the employees instead of acting like an adult.

It's on the dad, if he didn't properly explain his son has allergies. There is a difference between "no peanuts please" and "I can't have peanuts, it will kill me"

They might have done a cleaning of the equipment before making the shake if they knew how important it was

When I was fifteen and working my first job at McDonald's, there was a customer throwing a huge tantrum because he ordered a ham & cheese bagel and then started yelling about "How dare you serve ham to me, I'm Muslim!"

Some people just be like that. Having a bad day and want to drag everyone around them down to compensate. Or just so braindead they can never register they made a mistake.

Had a dude get prissy that a pistachio muffin(green and all) wasn't a lemon poppy because his kid was "deathly allergic to nuts" and I wanted to be like: "but you grabbed it off of a tray that had a banana NUT muffin on it?"

I just don't understand what his goal was. He went back to the place and asked for the person who made the smoothie. If they knew who it was and they came forward, then what? Was he going to ask politely if they put peanuts in it to give that information to the nurses at the hospital? Or just yell and possibly swing at them? It just looks like he went in looking for a fight.

I worked in fast food for too many years and I would see this kind of thing all the time (I've accidently done it too but I usually catch myself right after). People would be thinking of some menu item they didn't want, and during their order, since that was on their mind recently, they accidently order it. But they don't have any memory ordering that, their memory was ordering the thing they planned to get.

Imagine being in prison and having to tell the other inmates you're in there for throwing a smoothie at a teenage girl.

I think a part of it is he knew he should have said allergy, almost killed his son, got yelled by his wife then tried to twist it blame it on the teenage girls and couldnt handle the immense guilt it even hates that fact has to see consequences of his action. Its messed up but people are like that

Agreed. If he was rational about it, he could have had a pretty solid case to sue them for some big bucks. But he lost his shit because of the reasons you mentioned.

EDIT: And now, even if he isn't convincted, he'll always have an felony arrest on his record, which is nice.

There are far worse incidents like this that got far less attention

Probably isnt a conscious thing but the evidence speaks for itself

Why need to make such a clarification? I don't think finance people are victimize to a point where they need to be called out.

Idk if it's true, but if the drink/blender really did have peanuts and his kids in the hospital, I get where the anger comes from, not that he acted appropriately after the initial yelling

The article I read said he never told them about the allergy and just said no peanut butter.

Any smoothie place worth their salt has dedicated blenders for any peanut butter drinks and only peanut butter drinks. Cross contamination can still happen, obv, but its very unlikely, even with high schoolers/young adults.

Glad the guy got the consequences of his actions tho lmao
