A year later, couple years later, that's cool. But how about a month, a two, few months later, they marry their new husband or wife? Will you be cool with that if it was someone close to you? Maybe there's an afterlife, and you're a ghost, and see your husband or wife do that, would you be good with that?

Not everything is equivalent

As I said in a recent topic about an elderly man doing this, it's not that weird or uncommon with elderly people. That's not always just about lust or love but having companionship or a caretaker as well. Some elderly people even arrange a backup for their spouses, like in that episode of Everybody Loves Raymond. They know time isn't on their side, which also means it's easier to cut through courting and get on with it.

Younger couples are different but some people live fast. I don't think it necessarily means anything improper, though it can be suspicious.

Marrying is a red flag. At most starting to date someone else and that is still sus

my mom started dating like a week after my dad died

she told me she was afraid to be honest with me

i was glad she was healing and wanted her to have her own network, and i knew she and my dad were not doing great when he died (was sudden) but it definitely still hurt.

her new husband and i get on great though, A+ person

Interesting responses so far. If the person that have passed was your best friend, sister, brother, mother, father, etc, and their spouse did that, will you really be cool with that? If the two were complete strangers to you, I can understand why one wouldn't care.
