Tactics, but once you post that tactics doesn't count I'm going to say FF7 Remake.

FF7 Remake has all the complexity of the regular FF7 battle system with materia combinations, ATB meters, and an emphasis on buffs/debuffs, but then it actually makes the weapons a significant part of your strategy rather than a straight upgrade like in most other games, adds freedom of movement and positional weaknesses, counters are now more relevant than ever, and having to decide when to save up for an item vs a guard break move vs a damage move vs a summon keeps you on your toes.

Probably 13 because it relies on you manipulating an AI's actions rather than just choosing them from a list.

It's kind of not great, though, and it lacks combat diversity to make it so you don't just do the same thing over and over.

Id enjoy FF7 remake more iof the AI wasnt braindead, I have no idea why they didnt use anything resembling the gambit system from 12 or at least a tactics setting liek the tales games

13 is the one with the least depth, tied with 15 probably. There arent many factors you have to consider, and the game is incredibly simplified with the roles doing everything for you. 15 is just warpstrike over and over.

I'd like to speak in favor of X-2. There are an incredible amount of combos and interactions between Dresspheres and enemy types. It's one of the only things the game gets right.

I would figure FF12 gets a mention. You're only controlling your party leader and everyone else is set up with "gambits" which are just fancy If/Then statements really. Mixed with the job board and being able to build your character as you see fit I think overall the combat is kind of in-depth.

But you can also switch leaders on the fly! Too cool

Ffxiii-2 with monster infusion can lead to some crazy fun stuff. I had an omega that just went pew pew pew continuously because of the combination of skills it had and it was awesome.

Honestly most of the other games are pretty straight forward.
