I only care about Spyro/Crash which they probably wont do s*** with anyway if Microsofts treatment of Banjo is any indication of their future

That would have resulted in a lot of developers, testers, etc getting laid off. And Kotick would still get paid.

And MS already owns Halo and Gears; they don't need Call of Duty as well. That's just too much market saturation. The rest of their IPs aren't absolute bangers, and all of the development studios are in flames.

Sony should just be thankful it was The Big Dog Roman Reigns and not The Head of the Table, The Tribal Chief, the longest reigning Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

I don't know, this reminds me a lot of AOL/Time Warner and MCI/WorldCom in terms of conglomerates taking on a lot more risk for almost no gain, with one side basically being a smoldering wreckage.

Could care less atm. Show me what Im actually missing out on and maybe Ill get a lil irritated. I'm not holding my breath for them to somehow make a good Spyro game that isn't just a Remaster.

The risk here is minimal. All Microsoft has to do is clean up their fucking act. COD is a guaranteed 3 billion every year. Candy Crush is another guaranteed one billion every year.

WoW is winding down but still pulls money like fucking nuts. Hearthstone is still the primary virtual competitive TCG, nothing comes close.

There are simply too many competitors in the same space that are more appealing to generation Z.

And the bigger issue, as I stated previously, is that Microsoft doesn't want to pull a Titanfall 2 / Battlefield 1 like EA did. You can have too many similar games in your portfolio.

Warzone is still huge and Battlefield has dropped the ball way harder, which is their main competition.

Call of Duty is literally moving in that direction. That's the entire point of Warzone.

The market is becoming oversaturated. And the last thing Microsoft wants to do is contribute several different things to that oversaturation.

There's a tiny amount of wiggle room for me to care less. I did enjoy the Spyro Remasters a lot. If they somehow captured what made those good in a completely new game, Id be disappointed if it wasn't on a console I own.

Frankly, I love my series X and I have no real care who the dominant player in the gaming space is, but my gut tells me that this will probably be remembered as a colossal mistake by Microsoft. That is just too much money for a company with so many problems, and the fact remains that even if a couple IPs are valuable, Microsoft doesn't really need them.
