Havnt run into anything like it. But even then FC5s kidnapping is extremely scripted story events. I had no issue with them. At all....

I hated that forced captured shit in FC 5.

I understand that but you know when theyre happening and its more or less a cut scene with one of the bosses.

You literally have a meter telling you exactly when theyll happen. And its a relatively quick scene that you can skip.

Hating them takes longer than just doing them....

The fact they fucked you over in the story and have no way to beat them is also part of why I hated the forced capture shit.

FC 5 had the shittiest story and message.

Me and my wife are doing co-op on Far Cry 6, and it's a lot better in that regard than 5. Actually unlocking new weapons and equipment as the guest player instead of being stuck only with what you have from your own saved world is a blessing for us.

Been a blast of a game so far.

haven't finished it yet, it got really damn boring, and actually made me re-evaluate far cry 5's main story missions favorably

It seems to be more ok with you shooting like a normal fps than greatly promoting stealth. Which is good.

No I mean that they contribute to the crap endings and you cant actually beat the cult.

FC 5s gameplay was fun but the story itself was shit.

FC 3,4, and 6 are much better.

it's so poorly oprtimised on pc it put me off finishing it

I enjoyed the vibe of 5. Like the crazy cult doomsday vibe is awesome. The endings are bad but in a good doomsday vibe way. I loved how batshit crazy the cult was and talked all high and mighty.

i also really liked 5's setting and antagonists. i'd like to see another far cry in a big city or something

i'd honestly like if far cry went back to some of its science fiction roots in a spinoff or something

The problem with Far Cry 5 is it came out when the MAGA hatters were basically the same people in real life which made the plot annoying.

I hated the bible humpers in FC 5, and only enjoyed massacring them like the filth they were. I never hated any of the characters from FC 3,4 or 6.

I loved seeing how pathetic and defeated the leader is in New Dawn, seeing him beg for death was true joy.

Wiping out Edens Gate was like doing the world a favor. No mercy, no survivors, and no hesitation.

FC5 is better than 6. 6 tries to do way too much IMO.

I thought 5 had a cool premise and an absolute banger of an opening, but they really lost me with how over-the-top and unbelievable the cult actually was. It's a cartoon cult.

I'll end up playing 6 eventually because I'm a fan of the series, but the last couple of games really put me off with how jokey they were. IMO Far Cry is at its best when it's being serious and a little dark, but from what I've seen 6 leans even harder into the goofiness. Plus I've always loved the series' strict adherence to keeping absolutely everything in first person, but 6 doesn't do that for some reason.

On that subject, I will never ever ever understand why they didn't make your character carry over from FC5 to ND. I know you play as a new character, but FC5's protagonist pointedly shows up and they didn't even bother to specify male or female so they had to make him/her completely unidentifiable. Really weird design choice after they gave you a create a character for the first time ever

The FC 5 character was made a slave or Josephs bitch whichever you see as worse in New Dawn due to whatever fucked up shit Joseph did to him.

I loved seeing him fall apart and realize his shit cult and bullshit vision was a 100% fail. To see him completely broken was wonderful, and then I poured salt in the wounds by denying him death when he begged for it.

I would not have done this with Vaas, never Pagan Min (I let him live as he deserved).

5, in theory, has a more interesting story and setting. A big religioius cult is more interesting to me than just a plain old dictator, though that's fine as well. They just executed it horribly. The forced crap was terrible and I felt it got too weird in some places like with the lady cult member. Still, I loved running around in the Montana setting just hunting and fishing. It was so nice when you could have some peace and not get attacked by this and that.

I think I played 5 so much that I got burnt out too quick when playing 6.

Yeah, it got way too goofy at times. You're right about 6 too. It's also pretty over the top and can get goofy too, but it has its good moments as well.

Ubisoft games make me so depressed. We were literally joking about how they're all the same back in 2013. The biggest criticism of Watch_Dogs (aside from Aiden being the literal worst) was that it was "yet another Ubisoft open world game". And yet they kept making them.

The thing that falls apart about new dawns ending is the damage is done from 5...

That's why I hated the forced captures in Far Cry 5. They were all siblings, but because you could kill them in any order, they never acknowledged what you had done to their siblings. "I captured you, but I don't see you as that big of a threat, even though you've already killed 2 of my siblings"

I get that but they all acted as independent stories and i dont see much gain in them acknowledging each other. The dialogue did change some after depending on order though.

I prefer the freedom than the linearity on that one...
