They were short staffed after a few people quit, had to work unreasonable hours, but did so to not burden the other employees more. The managers did what they could to keep things going, but sometimes they'd have to close early. Corporate got involved and fired one of the 2 managers. The other, and all employees said they'd quit if that manager wasn't hired back. After a "review period" they simply fired the other manager too. So true next day no one showed up. There was literally only the one corporate person left and they couldn't do anything. We had an amazing manager who was unjustly fired (rather, he put in a MONTH's notice and was going to help the owners find a replacement) and he was let go the next day. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) the job had too many perks for me and others to show up for our manager and we didn't want to risk losing our jobs by speaking out. The managers did what they could to keep things going, but sometimes they'd have to close early. Corporate got involved and fired one of the 2 managers. The other, and all employees said they'd quit if that manager wasn't hired back. After a "review period" they simply fired the other manager too. So true next day no one showed up. There was literally only the one corporate person left and they couldn't do anything. Restaurant was closed for 2 months after. This is a good story. As is the one in the topic. pogo_rabid posted...
