Pokemon RBY does the same thing. Focus Energy is supposed to increase your crit rate, but it lowers it instead.

right but it's not a glitch, they hit 0.25 instead of 25.0. a glitch could be the result of anything. this was some sausage finger intern

yeah, i didn't want it anyway, just reading about DLC perks

and yes, they fucked up a perk included in paid DLC and never patched it

nothin doin for consoles

incidentally i'm doing lonesome road on hard at like level 5 because i want the ed-e upgrades asap for my laser guns. i don't understand why they put shit like that in a dlc area that's intended to be played at the end of the game...

There's a couple of perks that just don't work without the unofficial patch

I don't want to imagine the pain of playing through New Vegas on a console

they fucked up pyromaniac by making it require 60 explosives instead of 60 energy weapons. it still works, thankfully, so i just sucked it up and point in the points

I didn't know this. But that might be because after ten years and over a dozen playthroughs, I never once considered taking the Certified Tech perk because even at face value it looked like a waste of a perfectly-good perk slot.

So it seems like an odd thing to get so profoundly huffy over.

Oh ya i chose that perk at around level 50 to deal with the robo scorpions faster. I play the pc version with some patches. I always do old world's blues last and then quit for a long time.

Seems like an easy mistake to make.
.25 is 25% after all, whoever did it probably didn't realize it was already a percent and wouldn't convert

and sure enough, they cram that laser detonator in your inventory to progress in this DLC, and even after popping all the warheads, it's never... un-quest-item'd so yeah, nice one

Out of all the comparable Bethesda-developed games, this is one area where New Vegas is definitely the worst - waaaay too many un-droppable quest items get stuck in your inventory.

Although Fallout 4 almost takes the cake by not only making all keys un-droppable, but not giving them a separate menu category, so they horrendously clutter up the Misc section. That was a clear case of 'we've been making these games for over a decade and have learned absolutely nothing during that time.'

i do really appreciate new vegas's key ring "folder"

i wish there was a quest items folder too, like for the 5 circuit boards you need for ed-e, for instance

Fallout 76 has entered the chat.

The misc section is largely undroppable quest items but every now and then, something heavy like 20 pounds of ore will sneak in there and you're left wondering "why the fuck am I over-encumbered?"

I've never found any issues in New Vegas on consoles that made me wish I could mod it. Even issues like the one described in OP are things I wouldn't even notice.

In fact, even though Skyrim has mods on the Xbox One version I play, I play it without them. Can't be bothered sorting through them, choosing, diagnosing issues, sorting load order etc. I just wanna play.

Hopefully you'll forgive me for not sparing a thought over Fallout 76, beyond the occasional rewatch of Internet Historian's retrospective.

It's fun now (with a friend), and a lot (not all) of the misgivings about it have been addressed making for a novel Fallout experience (with a friend).

I wouldn't play it solo.

There's enough historical evidence for Bethesda-brand Fallout and Elder Scrolls mixing with Sony like oil and water that no one should shed a tear over them being MS-exclusive in the future. And the people who do still think that playing such games on Sony hardware is a good idea need to be protected from themselves.

Happened with fallout 3 goty editiom for ps3 as well. Had a save file that hit 14 megs and some areas like the junkyard i couldnt visit or else itd crash. Also ran like a slideshow throughout most of the dlcs except anchorage lol (like i swear it was running at 1 fps at times).

Generally itd crash every 30 mins or less if i went to the ok areas and didnt use vats frequently.

Even fallout 1 and 2 have some issues with PC if you didnt apply any patches. Fallput 2 in particular lagged and crash on me a few times for some reason. There is also that too many unique items bug that would corrupt save files iirc.

That's why I always choose to get the pulse gun on Veronica's quest.
