So I got the last Gym Badge now and it says I can go and fight the Elite 4. I haven't done much backtracking, though, so where are some good locations to go and visit to get some Rare Pokemon or Items/HMs

The Underground should have some solid pokemon at high levels that you can use to train up with or add to your team.

Take the time to explore all of the hidden caves, they often have useful items and even TMs.

The Elite 4 is pretty tough if you're underleveled since they are designed to have actual strategies and competitive stat distributions. Look at your current team and identify any type weaknesses and try to cover for them, otherwise the E4 will rip those weaknesses open.

idk man Drifblim baton passed 2 Minimize to infernape and it was all over for me.

So getting back to the original question - where should I fly back to in order to get some things?

Example - I just got Waterfall. Where can I go back to use Waterfall? I haven't been back to some of the early Towns since I got Rock Smash, Strength, Rock Climb, ect as well. Just things like that.

Just start from the beginning and go forward. Thats the best way to find everything

I cant be sure, but you might need to beat the elite four first. I dont remember him lying about which pokmon he saw until after that. But maybe I just missed it

good fight, I need to get a Faster Pokmon or actually use a Status effect, lol. I never get the Prox, though. No Flinch, Frozen (expected Dragons), Burn, etc. But they get them all the time.

Whats your team and movesets looking like? If youre open to using legendaries, you can use your box legend and also catch the 3 lake guardians. Azelf, found at the lake near Pastoria/Veilstone/The Resort, is pretty OP and makes great use of TMs

It was the same for me. I didn't lose the whole game until the Champion... I got her the second time, though...

Edit: My team was Inferape, Torterra, Empoleon, Staraptor, Luxray, & Alakazam. So, probably not the best or most fun team. But they got the job done...

If you teach surf to a Pokmon, you could ride them instead

Yeah, the elite four and champion were the only fights that really kept me on my toes. The difficulty spiked at that point, for sure. My issue is that they werent so much hard as they were cheap.

I taught surf to others and it still defaults to the damn beaver. Maybe if I release his dumb ass? I'm gonna try that.

I don't think it comes out because you own one. >_> I think it's a wild and random Bidoof/Bidoofus lol. You probably have to go to the Pokemon menu and choose Surf that way. Don't know though. Haven't made it that far yet. I just recall getting the message a wild bidoof appeared to break the rocks when using Rock Smash.

Yeah. The one that appears in wild. If you teach it to your own Pokmon and then use it, it should let you surf on your own
