and I always sign up for backup Santa-eR in case nobody gets a present I want to help out

but this is the first year I have ever been picked for backup Santa.. and this person has zero posts and zero comments.. ever. Since 2016.

but, to get a backup Santa-eR, you had to have proven that you sent a gift this year. So they sent a gift to somebody. So now I am a backup gifter to somebody with no posts and no comments ever..

but they probably sent a gift this year and didnt get one? Maybe? Should I send a gift? Or am I getting scammed?

You sign up and write a little description of things you like, mine always says something like adventure time, Pokmon, video games, cats, but Ill be happy with whatever! And you put your name and address and then somebody sends you a gift, and you get somebody else and you send them a gift.

the last three years I have gotten some cool ass shit for these three dudes, and all three years my secret Santa was a chick who got me cool ass Pokmon/adventure time shit.

but you can also sign up to be a backup Santa to somebody who sent a gift, but never received a gift. The thing is though that when youre given your match you go through their posts and comments to see who they are and what kind of gift to get them, but I got this second person to give a gift and they have no posts or comments. And I dont like that.

I've thought about doing it but I see how creative some people are and get discouraged

Like I can buy whatever but some people are really thoughtful and do really nice wrapping and packaging and presentation

I'm too lazy for all that lol
