Two packages supposed to arrive three days ago but they keep pushing the delivery date back a day, and the status hasn't changed in a while either.

And they're assuming things now according to one package.

They're much better than FedEx. I'm guessing Omarion is messing up their operations.

I have a pretty good record with Fedex. At worst they get delayed by a day.

Every single fucking FedEx package I get is delayed. I'm not even exaggerating. It gets stuck somewhere for days until it's at least 2 days later than the expected ETA. That's being generous. My package that was supposed to be delivered on the 12th has been in Indiana since the 12th. I live in MD.

As someone who's worked in a UPS, yes.

they are bad but not like trump corporation levels of bad...

Unfortunately this is a politicized issue now. Ever since trump wanted to kill the post office, others have felt the need to point out every instance of poor performance by the private carriers. I've not researched enough to make a judgment.

I think the delivery company are all great.

Having worked at FedEx Ground for fourteen years, your package could be late for a host of reasons. When Covid first hit we were screwed. Our hub did an average of 300k packages a day. Almost overnight that went to 550-600k. With the same level of staffing. It's part of the reason I left, because we were expected to work damn near seven days a week. From what people have told me that still work there it's still crazy. Delivery drivers getting Covid, line haul drivers getting Covid (those are the cross country big rig drivers), package handlers and everyone else getting it, too. Add to that record online shopping and it's just impossible to deliver everything on time. I would say that they're doing everything they can to get your package to you. Because every delivery that's late means that there's less room on the delivery truck for a new package. It's a hard cycle to get out of.

The volume has dropped substantially recently, though part of that is because another facility opened up a few towns over and took some of it off our hands. Now it's the lightest I've seen since I started working there 5 years ago. Even holiday peak was pretty mild.

If you have two packages being delivered to the same address within a few days of eachother they will often hold one until the other arrives to avoid making unnecessary trips. They're called DELVs. You can call and upgrade your service level to Next Day or 2 Day Air if you want one right away, but you'll have to pay for it if it's still within the Ground delivery window.

The other option is that they were damaged and you'll probably never get them.

Where do you work?

I'm a package handler at a facility on Long Island. The volume has fluctuated a lot recently, but we've historically done about 16k packages a day on average. 20k would be considered a heavy day (though 25k once or twice a week wasn't uncommon last year). Recently we've frequently had less than 10k.

USPS is always more affordable. I don't understand why people use UPS.

Cool deal. I was a package handler for five years, then got into QA. Still miss loading sometimes.
