Writing for men is easy.
Trying to aim for female audiences? You need far more complex characters and you're never going to get that one-size-fits-all character like you will with guys. The biggest companies with the vastest financial resources, with all the marketing research and spreadsheets in the world, can't be guaranteed to write a character to speak to most women the same way that a slightly edgy everyman will to most men. "Cynical and rebellious" is a good place to start, but that still doesn't mean you won't fall short of your target. ... Copied to Clipboard!

People like every man self insert characters like Peter Parker, Harry Potter, Luke Skywalker...etc. Edgy characters only appeal to teenagers TBH. ... Copied to Clipboard!
