I told him he was better off talking to a professional financial advisor than me. I did this for two reasons.

1) Why would I want to do the work to make someone else money?
2) I don't want to risk losing his money and get fired.

I'm smarter than a lot of guys on Reddit.

You could've just gotten some free crypto, taken the grand for yourself, and said you invested in that stuff instead.

The general idea would be you know what you're doing, but don't have enough money to really make big bucks doing it yourself, so you do it for other people in exchange for a cut of their profits.

Then make sure you get a written agreement. Alternatively, you could agree to teach him the "how" but leave it up to him to actually make the choices and look after his coins.

You can offer to invest in a tech with staking rewards and collect that while he takes the gains/losses.

Why? It's not like he claimed a very high benchmark at all; it's pretty realistic.

Or just tell him basic stuff like Bitcoin + Etherium. Those are lowish right now and will probably go up.
