It's kind of a survival instinct. And aloooota people feel as if they are in survival mode these days.

So basically, people maybe could be more forgiving and honest with others instead of just riding a contrarian death horse into battle.

It's all about how you treat someone, or wether you talk to them or you talk to their opinions when verbalizing a stance.

Tldr: Peeps need to relax and take a chill pill, ESPECIALLY when under dire circumstances.

No one group is responsible, and that's a challenge we can solve in the future, and I think the first step is to be kind to one another ESPECIALLY when disagreeing. It will lead to a melding of ideas closer to the "objective truth" anyway.

evalangell has spent the last 2-3 years in purgatory for covid denial and disinformation. He came out of a 6 month suspension and got called out for what he did. He denied the accusations of covid disinformation, "I NEVER SAID THAT!" and someone posted "you said you believe deaths are overreported because of some conspiracy" and he replied "because that's the truth" and went right back into purgatory for another 6 months without having been out for even 2 hours. It's sad that such an old and once 6k+ karma account has devolved into such shitposting.

No major companies will give you a contract. I doubt anyone would care enough to ban you from social media though.

Also banning Joe Rogan from social media would be like finding oil for him and only make him more popular IMO.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how the free speech brigade is opposed to anyone reacting to the free speech. "I have free speech, so you better not argue with me or think differently of me over what I said. That's not allowed in a free society."

Shouldn't perjury, libel, and slander not even exist as crimes given that we should not be held responsible? People on the Internet telling someone to shut up for posting fake information is authoritarianism, so the literal government having laws related to what people say must mean America ihas already fallen to authoritarianism.

On one hand, there's the 'freedom from' crowd (freedom from want, discrimination, false imprisonment, untimely death, etc), and on the other, there's the 'freedom to' crowd (freedom to be an asshole, to deny a gay couple a wedding cake, to spout whatever harmful rhetoric they want without consequence). And when put the screws, the latter crowd will always try to pretend that they belong in the former crowd in an attempt to gain some unearned sympathy.

Deplatforming doesn't work, it's far too late for that to do anything but serve as validation of the "see? THEY don't want us to know this stuff, something really shady MUST be going on" variety. Given that it's the ideas that truly need defeating perhaps concentrate on combating those instead of making yourself look like a bunch of lunatics (aka giving the right more ammo to fearmonger with).
