My only issue with Miles is that he makes Peter pointless. He has better powers. The only thing Peter has over him is he's got better Spidey Sense. Whenever they decide to age up Miles he's gonna outclass Peter in every other category because he just has stronger powers. It's really stupid to me.

I can see that. Hell, even in the Miles Morales game his gameplay feels a lot better just because of his added abilities.

Miles fulfills the role of teenage Spider-Man, which really hasn't been a thing in the comics for a long time. It's less readily noticeable in other media since a lot of Spider-Man adaptations put him in high school.

I do think Miles could stand a little power variation from Peter. Like both can keep Spider-sense, wall-crawling, and webshooters, but have Peter be stronger, faster and more agile. Have Miles have his venom blasts and invisibility. That would help give them different niches. Let you tell more varied Spider-Man stories.

These discussions only come up when women or minorities are involved. It's closet racism in most cases.

Parker is and has always been boring. Generic nerd becomes OP after getting power story then of course getting his crush. His villains are what made him interesting

Sounds like you don't know much about him. Have you ever read the comics? Even after getting his powers nothing really comes easily to him. He has to struggle like crazy for everything that he has and every time that it looks like things are turning around for him he goes through another rough patch. His perseverance despite his awful Parker luck, his wittiness and ingenuity are all a part of why he's such an easy character to root for. He's the ultimate everyman

As another poster mentioned, MCU Peter is basically just Miles. Goes to a school for the gifted, Asian best friend, has to prove himself to other more established heroes, etc. Spiderverse had to change his personality up a bit to differentiate him from Peter even more.

Yeah, I have no idea how they're gonna balance this in the next game either. Peter is gonna be so boring and pointless to play in comparison.

I'm guessing they'll make Peter more exciting through his suits. In the trailer, Peter had the "Iron Spider" suit. And there's rumors that every suit will have a symbiote version and that can change how his combat feels too, assuming it's not just a simple cosmetic change.

Maybe they'll give Peter new abilities to compensate, or make Miles better suited for stealth operations but is fragile and can't hit as hard during combat.
