So, I like to hunt the shiny Pokmon. There were tons of websites claiming that, in order to get the shiny charm, you need to capture the 150 mon in the sinoh dex.

Okay, that was a bitch to even do. Many of them involved putting honey on trees and shaking them (every six hours) with less than a 5% chance of getting what you need. Got to get both genders of them, too. One involved finding a fish that spawned in one of four random squares in a massive lake with a low chance, then you had to mix poffins to increase its beauty. Seriously? Then you had to run around getting massages (one per day) for probably 5-8 different ones. Well, I managed to do it all.

Then I read that you need to catch almost 500 of them. Many of these require you to use evolution stones, do events, swarms (which takes several weeks to even find them) and catch at least a dozen legendaries which each involve throwing tons of ultra balls, which cost a ton of money.

Also note that the trade community is practically dead compared to Sword and Shield when they came out. I only managed to complete the massive Pokdex in those games because I traded online. Oh, also I should note that Pokmon home isnt even available, so I cant send them to myself, even if I was willing to pay the money. They cant be bothered to include Pokmon home, but they can pull out all stops to make an update to fix any kind of fun exploit that helps you to avoid some of the tedious bs that they made.

They dont sell the evolution stones. Many of them you have to evolve by trading with an item that may or may not even exist in the game. Catch dozens of magbies in the wild and hope that one of them has the item!! There are ones that are almost impossible to find in the wild.

Then you have to pay for online and home (which doesnt even exist for this game and might not be available until Christmas 2022). They used to have that badass GTS system where you could put a rattata in a box and request a MewTwo. You would wake up and someone would have sent it to you. Nope! We have to take that out because its not making us any money!

I literally could finish the national dex today if Pokmon home was actually up and running. Then they make it to where you cant complete the Pokdex without hacking your system, which I cant even do.

I said Im done with game freak and I meant it, but I may be done with gaming in general. The new systems (PS5) is basically unavailable and you have to pay scalper price to get it, only to find out that it doesnt even have any games. Then you have to pay $70/game and buy a new gaming tv to even play it. Lets be honest, new games suck now. Everythings geared to online play and they barely make RPGs anymore. I am officially on a rant and I ragequit this game.

Though they eventually made filters for that sort of thing I think.

Because multiple articles claimed that you only needed 150. Also considering the fact that the trade community is virtually nonexistent and you cant access home or trade with sword/shield or lets go.

I said multiple sources and posted multiple sources. There was also an existing trade community for the other games. If they hadnt posted misinformation in multiple sites, I wouldnt have even tried to get them.

There didnt always used to be 500 Pokmon and every new generation adds more and more frustrating mechanics to get and find specific ones.

There have been over 300 Pokmon for YEARS now. Complaining about it now, when its the core mechanic the franchise was founded upon, is absolutely ridiculous.

Yes, but like I said, there used to be things like Pokmon home that actually worked and there was an active trade community. They took out GTS because they realized it wasnt making them money.

I cant argue with this. I got the shiny charm in sword and shield and used the Masuda method to hatch thousands and thousands of eggs without a single shiny. I admit that its on me for even trying with this piece of shit game, but lesson learned now.

Weren't you guys done with Sword and Shield? And then done again with SP and BD? So you're done this time for sure right?

I for one have never said I was done, most I said was I wasnt sure if I was getting the remakes as they looked low effort.

Then they were so low effort they were full of glitches that I had to get them.

As already stated you've needed to complete the national dex for it in every game since it was added.
