Or will we have switched to all PC/Phone gaming. Or maybe even all streaming gaming so the machinery doesn't matter as much?

you'll have your choice of the microsoft/sony/nintendo brain spike, that lets you upload into a VR space and play their specific brand of games.

I feel like there will always be a market for people who don't want to or can't deal with the large upfront investment of a gaming PC. Mainly kids and people under 20ish.

Consoles have always been super conveient and straight forward for people not familier with computers

I agree. But I've been thinking lately that with the rise of streaming of games and with that technology only getting better and faster we might transition to only streaming.

Id hope we can get streaming up and working well in another 25 years. Then pretty much every smart TV is a potential gaming device. No such thing as exclusives anymore

I don't believe in belts. There should be no ranking system for toughness.

i dont know where you live, but in the US we're way more then 25 years away from an internet infrastructure that supports mass streaming of games.

Nope. We'll have streaming boxes for a publisher's games. You want to play Capcom games? Better buy the Capcom streaming box.

Maybe. I don't know. 25 years ago AOL was just getting big and people were getting dialup in their homes. Technology has progressed a LOT since then and progression will probably only get faster.

everyone had phone lines 25 years ago. the vast majority of america doesn't have fiber connection right now, and with the way infrastructure is built here i doubt we will in 25 years either.

A high end gaming laptop is still pretty expansive, and most due to their circumstance likely don't have longterm space for a gaming desktop.

Assuming in 25 years we still have consumer electronics like that, I think we will still have dedicated devices, but more digital focused and definitely big on streaming.
