It's been a tough winter where I live compared to most years, and while I still love my TT to death, I have to drive a lot more now than when I bought it, and that's not doable if this kind of weather is going to become more common.

So I'm kind of in car shopping mode again. Not taking it too seriously yet, probably not even going to test drive any of these until spring/summer, but I'm starting to do my research now since I'm the most indecisive car buyer on the planet.

These are the main six that have caught my eye. All around 55-65 K CAD. Open to other suggestions as well. Cheers.

I voted Q5 because they look nice and I like how Audi drives. Have you looked into the Genisis SUVs they are making? Brand new for 22 and I think its right in your price range. Looks nice with tons of features. Also, I know its probably out of the price range a little but Im a fan of the Porsche SUVs.

Id go Volvo or maybe Lexus, but your main deciding factor should be the dealership reviews that mention their shops/mechanics. Dont go with a car thats going to fuck you on the repairs.

From those options the volvo. If you are willing a Lexus is best, as fuck "luxury" cars that break every 5 seconds.

I have driven a Q5. I like them, but they're obnoxiously common which is a turn off. I do like the GV70, but there isn't really a dealer network in western Canada just yet. And yeah, I adore the Macan, but that starts to get towards 80 K really fast because Porsche options are a rip off. Plus they need 94 octane gas which is another expense I could do without.

I've had a TT for 4 years and only had one major repair. Audi Canada was nice enough to fix it out of warranty too. A lot of the problems people have with luxury cars is because they buy cheap used ones and then can't afford parts. That isn't really an issue for me.

I like the Volvo, that would be my pick

That seems to be the class leader for subcompact SUV's according to all the big car sites. Has a bit of a weird reputation as a hipster car, but I guess that kind of fits my aesthetic ha ha.

Too big for me lol. One of the things I liked best about the TT was how easy it was to park. Would like to stay small.

I've driven Acura RDXs when I've brought in my TL for service work. I've always thought they were nice for what they are - I just wish there was a 6 cylinder option.

Maybe 15 years ago yeah. Right now they're the zeitgeist of vehicles though. Besides, the Land Rover is on my list. Who says I won't go off road?

back in the day, I would agree but now? SUV's are the standard vehicle if you have a family and want ample space. Granted my SUV has 500 HP and more of a sports SUV.

Definitely the Audi followed by the Alfa. I wouldn't really buy an SUV tho

Sports SUV's are such a hoot. Girl I know has an X5M, that thing is absolutely hilarious, and would blast my TT in a race.

Like I said growing up a bit and going from a sports car to a sporty SUV. Can't have a sedan right now. Maybe if Covid ever fucks off and I can finally move to the US.

I generally loathe SUVs but if (IF) I was going to get one, an A-Spec RDX would be at the top of my list.

I wish they'd offer a Type-S like with the MDX - that might seal the deal for me.

Yeah my Jeep is fun, but also it's very comfortable. When I was looking for an SUV I wanted something that I know would be reliable but also fun to drive. Plus something that would bend me over anytime I needed to fix on it. Granted I could've sprang for something like a X6M but not a fan of BMW reliability.

I drive a Montero but Im not going to knock someone if they want to drive a Lexus GX470. Would you have an issue with someone driving a Maybach when they could have afforded to buy a Corvette? Again this is silly. Vehicles have different utility functions for different people.
