1080p was the standard resolution for tvs for a long time. in fact they're still pretty good given you have a 50ish inch tv and sit back more thatn about 7 or 8 feet, like i think most people do

as you get bigger, the differences become bigger and a 4k tv is nicer to balance those out

but i feel like its reached a point where, unless a 90 inch tv becomes the norm, theres no need for 8K except for fringe cases like uh.. rich people with big houses.

i dunno. i just dont see the point. why does my ps5 say it can play 8k games lmao wtf sony
