So my wife's parents gave us a Roku Stick for Xmas that plugs directly into an HDMI port on our TV. However, the Roku does not seem to recognize the receiver we have plugged in to the TV and no audio will come out of it. We have to turn the receiver off and get audio out of the TV speakers, which defies the point of even bothering with a Roku. Furthermore, my TV says something about the lack of an ARC or something and I have no idea what the hell that even means. I've got one HDMI port plugged directly into the receiver and it's supposed to work when I set it on the TV setting on the receiver. Any one know how to fix this? Or even know what I am talking about? --- Welcome to GameFAQs, where having an opinion is a declaration of war. ... Copied to Clipboard!

ARC = audio return channel If your sound bar or receiver isn't ARC compatible, you will probably have to plug your Roku into a HDMI port on the receiver (if it has one) A quick google search shows this page from Roku support: https://support.roku.com/article/208754498 ... Copied to Clipboard!
