2021 We had a vaccine, but not everyone wanted to take it

The optimist in me is thinking that the dominant COVID variant will mutate into nothing more than a common cold. But that's wishful thinking.

What do you think is going to be the surprise virus-related topic for 2022?

Probably herpes

Hmm, I might put horse paste and the rise of ivermectin above the vaccine in terms of surprising.

Next year though? Reactions to the pandemic and the vaccine have been so bizarre I can't really think of something comparably as strange. I'm sure I'll see many surprises, though.

That's exactly it. I'm curious what people might think will happen - likely more surprising that what we've seen so far.

Given Joe's dismal performance, that would be surprising. With trump getting a booster and other prominent rep figures starting to take pandemic procedures seriously, that could also sway some voters.

A completely unrelated virus takes off on a global scale. Everyone masks up (aside from the antimask/antivaxxers) and then we learn it spreads though surface contact instead. Trumpists start licking random shit in public to show they aren't afraid of no virus.
