The shocking incident happened at Fern Valley Road property owned by Hope and Chris Lea when reports of 2 people who had been in a BATTLE with a male kangaroo named Carter The owners came home to find the younger kangaroos surrounding Carter's dead body as hope says "He didn't have nowhere to go. He was choked to death in his own space" Tennessee law allows people to own kangaroos with males costing 2000 and females at 3000 She said "We've had Carter since he was a little nugget. It's like losing a family member" It started when the neighbors spotted Carter escaping his enclosure and jumping around the Lea's property. The neighbors called the Leas to see if they could get it back into its enclosure but they said they could feed it to lure him back into his area with the Lea's fenced in property They said they would be home in an hour to take care of it.
