I usually just let people enjoy the things they want to enjoy, as it's none of my business.

I mean....

I view it almost like Twin Peaks. It's a twist on teen sitcom with martial arts & honestly. Like satire.

Can you think of a better sentai show to just turn on and watch? The OG series up to maybe around the time we got the White Ranger is pretty epic, man. The cast had so much chemistry. They acted the anime vibe live better than anyone before or since. Cheesy? Absolutely.

No but the lenses and music sure make it seem that way lolol

The funniest part of MMPR is Season 2, when you realize just how much the Sentai footage was carrying the show up until they got too cheap to commission more from Toei and started doing their own thing. >_>

Then the actors for Jason/Trini/Zack leave and you realize that there's something really off about the show for a solid 10+ episodes, as Billy, Tommy, and Kim are constantly making excuses for why the other three aren't there. <_<

Oh, and of course the Zord footage for a good half of season 2 used two different shows, so they could almost never show the megazord and the monster on the screen at the same time. You ended up getting the same "megazord punches the screen, cut to monster doing a flip" thing like 5 times per battle.

And they start getting ambitious with multi-part storylines, but you can tell they have no idea what they're doing, so there's like 15 minutes out of a 23 minute episode that's just watching civilian tied up in a cave doing nothing.

By the time season 3 rolled around they mostly got their shit together and the show loses its "how long can this trainwreck keep crashing" charm. >_>

I enjoy the cheese of it all these years later but its funny how their parents are never shown, or how during megazord fights they cause grand Man Of Steel levels of destruction likely causing millions worth of damages not to mention mass losses of life, but none of that matters because here's to a hearty laugh at Bulk and Skull in the juice bar!
