Because both were created in us more or less Anyway I definitely didn't grow up with the munsters, but that being said I would have watched that 2012 reboot they did if they ordered a full show out of it. The fact they were creeps played into the plots and jokes better usually. The Munsters was "What if we took every 50s/60s sitcom and changed the family to monsters." They still act and live the same way as regular people, so 99% of the time it didn't matter that Herman was a Frankenstein monster.
