One of the worst movies I saw all year out of 360+

My kid thought it was hilarious. What did the kid you watched it with think about it?

I mean, it being a cash grab is part of the joke. Its a holiday movie. Historically holiday related things are just remade over and over again. This is no different. Its supposed to have a corny vibe that only works during the holidays.

that and its a kid movie my guy. The original still exists. No need to worry about this one also existing lol.

It was better than I expected honestly. Changing the perspective to the robbers instead of the kid made it feel like more of its own take on the formula.

They also kept the violence pretty brutal. The needle in the alarm was brutal.

It's nowhere close to the first two but barely any kids movies are.

Being for for children is not an excuse to be garbage. If any of what you said is remotely true Disney would have released the movie theatrically, not for free on streaming. It really is that bad

The difference is that here the kid is just sociopathic. Compared to the original, Harry and Marv were genuinely trying to kill the kid, so it was more about self-defense

I think it was inspired by those YouTube horror trailer edits for Home Alone lol. I don't think it was a huge problem. They explained that the kid thought he was in danger with the convoluted dialogue.

It's a dumb movie that requires a lot of things happening in a specific way for things to go the way they do but that's Home Alone.

I just watched the movie Better Watch Out yesterday and it's a pretty good modern take on what Home Alone would be like if Kevin McCallister fully embraced his sociopathic urges
