Deep down he has a heart of gold. Hes just a buffoon as well.

Season 1 Michael Scott is a huge dick, they were trying to just copy the British version.

Season 2 and onward he becomes much more of a good hearted buffoon

Nope he's a terrible person, a cowardly idiot. He's not a "good-hearted buffoon" he's the kind of scumbag who wants the love and adoration without the actual sacrifice for it.

But eh so long as you know that you can enjoy the antics of his on occasion.

Eh. He tries to be but he might be too cowardly and too quick to turn on friends when feeling emotional.

It's been a while since I watched the office, but I think he's pretty neutral. He has a capacity for goodness, but rarely puts anyone else before himself. So, not a good person, but not entirely a bad person either.

Ehhh, there's good in there and he does feel bad for some of the shit he does. But some of the stuff he's said and done just makes it seems like he's a shitty person deep down.

Not really. The man doesn't really have any principles other than doing what will make other people like him or what directly benefits him without any personal consequences.

He's not a terrible person, but he's severely flawed.

That's one the big examples that he's more of an idiot than a bad person. His genuine intention was to help kids get through school.

Michael always ends up doing the wrong way to do the right thing for the wrong reason.

Honestly, no on in the office is 10% a great person. But that's what makes them human (even if they do get flanderized as the seasons go on).

Honestly, Im at a point where characters that aren't hypocrites in some way or another comes off as lacking depth. No one is actually 100% aware of everything they're doing.

Id say yes. When he gets bullied he usually just takes it in and not seek revenge like Dwight lol

He is. I forget exactly the moment but theres a clear incident where The Office went from Micheals a fool, everyone else is normal to everyone in the office are fools and Michael is normal. When that happens you can really see how good Michael is.

Edit: I think it was when Andy went to anger management. The entire dynamic of the show changed after that storyline.

He's a well meaning person, who is ultimately a selfish coward.
